About Me

Who, you ask, could be so bold, so daring, so careless with his money, as to pack thousands of dollars of equipment into a boat he may never see again, just for some wishy washy eco-small-world-kum-ba-ya idea?!  And I answer:

My name is Andrew Maurer, and I'm an aeronautical engineer living in Cupertino California.  At work, I'm responsible for the optical attitude control hardware on some of the world's largest communications satellites.  At home, I tinker with my classic Land Cruiser, and maintain a few small businesses through my company, Utility Calculus.

I graduated from Purdue University in 2006 with degrees in Applied Physics and Aeronautical Engineering, and in my [now very limited] free time I'm also working on my masters in Aero. Eng.  Above everything else, my hobby is building things, but I also enjoy offroading, skiing, Geocaching, etc.  Now that I've written that down, I'm realizing how little time I have for hobbies, geez, that's depressing.

I am extremely excited about LonelyBot and what is essentially my first blog, much less a video blog.  Thanks for stopping by!
